Somya Rathee

Somya Rathee is a quantum technology researcher and community leader working at the intersection of quantum computing, emerging technologies, and strategic outreach. She is the Co-Founder of Quantum Society Austria and Co-Founder of Quantum Nexus International (QNI), an emerging initiative focused on connecting technology, research, policy, and society.

She is currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Physics at the Technical University of Munich (TUM) and has gained research and industry experience with organisations including IBM Austria, the Austrian Institute of Technology (AIT), Terra Quantum/QMware, and the University of Vienna. She is also an upcoming intern at OHB in Munich, where she will further explore the intersection of quantum technologies and the space sector.

Beyond research, Somya is actively involved in building the quantum ecosystem through international events, public speaking, education, and interdisciplinary collaboration. She has spoken at venues including the Munich International Quantum Forum and Quantum Effects Stuttgart and has helped organise major quantum technology events in Austria.

Her work and engagement have been recognised through distinctions, including Woman of the Month by ADV, third place in Austria’s National AI Competition, and winning the multilingual SAG’S MULTI! Speech competition. Her broader interests span quantum technologies, artificial intelligence, space technology, and their societal and geopolitical implications.
